Puckett Station Festival

Join us for a day of community, family fun, and great food at the 4th of July Puckett Station Festival!

Numerous local vendors will be both in the mill and outside nearby. The event will showcase a World War 1 exhibit including uniforms and gear from the war. A barbershop quartet and Martin Rudy and the Newnan Brass will be performing. There will be strolling performers and musicians as well as games of yesteryear for the children.

8:30am: Patriotic Bike Parade & Patriotic Pet Parade
Youngsters are invited to decorate bikes, trikes, and other non-motorized vehicles. MCAA will be giving the following cash prizes: $20, first place; $10, second place; and $5, third place.

Moreland Animal Hospital will sponsor a dog walk with prizes of doggie swag.

Contestants for both events should gather in front of Moreland United Methodist Church at 8:30am.

9:00am: Opening Ceremonies
Will be held inside the Moreland Mill starting at 9am.

11:00am - 1:00pm: BBQ and Brunswick Stew
Moreland United Methodist Church, First Baptist of Moreland, and Bethlehem Baptist prepare and serve a barbecue and Brunswick stew meal. The celebration has been going this way since 1947 and continues to be a time for good food and good fellowship as well as a great source of fund-raising for the member churches.
BBQ Plate: $9
Quart of Stew or Pork: $10
Gallon of Stew: $40

12:00pm: Dramatic Reading of the Declaration of Independence

9:00am – 2:00pm or so: Authors’ Corner in Museum
Book signing and chat with authors about their latest works and writing. Authors include Shanon Grey (Paranormal Suspence) & Sidney A. Brown (Southern Historical Fiction).
